TC STRONG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing among youth in Transylvania County, North Carolina. We aim to promote awareness, reduce stigma, provide educational resources, and increase access to services for youth and families in our community. Learn more about what we do.
With a common goal of improving mental well-being and reducing suicide among our youth, we bring together cross-sector leaders including Transylvania Public Health, Transylvania County Schools, nonprofit partners, youth-serving organizations, and community members, each with unique skills and talents, all committed to working better together. Among our assets, we have physicians (practicing and retired), mental health professionals, educators, public health administrators, youth/students, non-clinical well-being advocates, and people with lived experience contributing to the leadership and “workforce” of TC STRONG.
TC STRONG is staffed by co-directors, who share responsibilities for administration, programming, training, volunteer coordination, community outreach, and resource development.
TC STRONG frequently hosts student interns from Brevard College and the NextGen program to provide hands-on experience and skill development in the real world of youth mental health work.
